The Feeling of Space?

The evolution of aircraft business-class seats has inspired my design practice by showing me how much can be achieved within strict constraints. Designers cannot simply increase the size of an aircraft cabin, so they have transformed the same limited space into a seat, bed, workspace and private environment.

This has influenced how I approach my own designs, encouraging me to think beyond simply making a product functional. I now consider how geometry, transformability, ergonomics and user experience can work together to maximise what a product can achieve within its limitations. It has made me more interested in designing innovative solutions to constrained engineering problems.
