Overview

ReLume is a lighting design research project that explores the intersection of sustainability, emotion, and spatial experience through reclaimed materials. Rather than showcasing an intentionally “recycled” aesthetic, ReLume transforms discarded parts into refined, future-facing lighting pieces that feel both intentional and visionary. Each light is a study in contrast — pairing warmth and comfort with the raw edge of industrial modernism.

The project examines how lighting influences mood, atmosphere, and the identity of a space. I’ve designed and built multiple prototypes using a range of salvaged components, integrating them into sculptural forms that feel fresh, expressive, and functionally robust. These lights are more than upcycled objects — they’re pieces with presence and narrative, quietly challenging the notion that sustainability must compromise design quality.

ReLume is ongoing and constantly evolving. It sits at the heart of my design philosophy: thoughtful, resource-aware creation that elevates both material and environment. Each fixture is hand-built, blending precision fabrication with expressive form, aiming to leave a lasting emotional impact with minimal environmental cost.
